Outline

Edge Plating

Edge plating refers to a process where the edges or sides of a PCB are plated with a metal layer. This can be done for various reasons, such as ensuring continuity for grounding or shielding purposes or to create additional connection points along the edge of the PCB.

In the Gerber data, it must be clearly indicated where edge plating is desired and how it should appear. For specific requirements or details regarding edge plating, it is advisable to contact the PCB manufacturer directly to ensure that the requirements are correctly implemented.
